Probably, almost everyone in recent years has been called at least once by phone scammers. Me—especially often: I’m a freelancer, and for work I’m forced to leave my phone number in different places. At some point, I got tired of constantly fending them off, and one day I thought: “Why not turn this into entertainment and maybe even a source of income?”
I bought a few SIM cards and posted new numbers on job sites, in social networks, and on the platforms of small shops. The scammers started calling almost right away—I recorded the calls, then heavily shortened them, edited them a little, and decided to publish the funniest ones.
Besides, it’s useful to listen to such dialogues in order to understand what tricks scammers usually use and how to resist them. That’s why the audiobook includes chapters “Common Scamming Schemes” and “A Safety Guide.”
