Description
The second most important novella, “The Triple Polar Plot,” a significant part of which was originally published under the title “The Bird of Captain Ross,” is dedicated to a person finding their purpose in life, learning and willpower “to live by a dream”—through the example of a man who is quickly losing his sight due to a sports injury that leads to the collapse of his athletic career. The novel was filmed by director Nikolai Kalinin in 1972, in the film “Going Beyond the Horizon.” The novel quotes the song “Pirate’s” by Alexander Gorodnitsky.
