I am the thirteenth of the mar. The strongest or the weakest—what’s true is still undefined. Behind my back there’s an error that cost people their lives. To try to correct at least part of what happened, I must find the strongest man currently living—"strong not on the outside, but from within," according to the words of an old Veda—after which everything will change.
Would I have agreed to take the difficult path, knowing that I would meet Sidd Arkein, a descendant of the Ancient Inquisitors—a man who hates witches? Would I have kept my determination, knowing that he would put me through the very real kind of purgatory, and that we would walk side by side to the scariest place for the mar— the Cursed Marsh? But when at stake is redemption, the choice isn’t between fighting for the truth or repenting. We have a common enemy and a common "reward," and therefore resistance born out of hatred makes no sense. If only fate makes the turn back— and the price doesn’t matter. And so—yes, I would agree.
