Three Faces of Janus

The book includes four works: “Three Faces of Janus,” which tells about the heroic activities of the Soviet intelligence officer Sirzjutdin Akhmedov in 1944–1945 in Königsberg, as well as novellas about feats—“An Accident,” “The Burden of Accusation,” and “The Black Curtain.”

Intelligence officers have many names, many different disguises. Who is this mysterious Janus really—one that both the Hitlerites and their henchmen hunt? It will take many years before the searing secret is finally uncovered. But even the years that have passed won’t guarantee safety for criminals hiding from justice—after all, their “hare snares” are unraveled by real masters of their craft.
