1933. The Lower Poland region is in turmoil. Public dissatisfaction is growing. Fists are raging. Settlers flee by the thousands. Farmers are dropping dead from hunger and lack of sleep. There have been reports of cannibalism and looting of storage warehouses. And it all began with the fact that some men started roaming the villages with a mandate from the head of the agricultural department of the regional party committee—Golovchenko. Citing his orders, they were taking away from peasants food supplies down to the last crumb. And no one knows what ultimately happened to that agricultural produce. It’s not in the district, not in the allied warehouses—it's as if it has evaporated. As has Golovchenko himself.
A group of Chekists from the OGPU—headed by seasoned fighters Bolshakov, Rusakov, and Lifshits—is assigned an extremely dangerous operation. The place where the fugitive party official has taken refuge has already been established. All that’s left is to storm his hideout and take the scoundrel alive.
