Ekaterina Nilova comes to her senses by the roadside. It seems that only a moment ago, on a sunny morning, she was walking along the waterfront with her seven-year-old son. But now everything has changed. The city streets are empty, rain pours from the sky, and Maxim is gone. Searching for her child, she is forced to go through a tangle of different times, to face the ghosts of the past, and the nightmares’ creatures—so that in the end she finds not only her son, but answers to all her questions, including the ones she would better never ask.
