The Shadow

A young scholar, Christian-Theodor, arrives in a small southern country to study history. From Annunziata, the innkeeper’s daughter, he hears a story about the strange will of the local king. According to this will, the king’s daughter must marry not a prince, but find herself a husband among ordinary, unimportant people. To fulfill her father’s will, the princess disappears from the royal palace.
