Nastia grew up in a small southern town, studied hard and relentlessly, got into the journalism department at Moscow State University—and now she’s trying to fit into a new, beautiful and interesting, but completely different life. Cutting herself off from her family, she strives to find her place, yet she keeps feeling more and more alone, foolish, and provincial. Friendship with a beautiful and successful classmate at first seems like a lifeline—but it turns into a painful kind of dependence for her. In the bleak corridors and dim rooms of her dorm, Nastia seems to be living through the worst days of her life, sinking deeper into despair and depression. Only love and support from loved ones, recognizing her own identity, will help her find a foundation and confidence—and the desire to help others will give her hope of finding inner meaning.
