Description
Nikolai Gogol’s novella “Taras Bulba,” included in the cycle “Mirgorod,” was published in 1835. In 1842, the second, expanded and revised edition by Gogol appeared, and it is printed in modern editions. In 1952, fragments of the novella were recorded on the radio by the actor of the Moscow Art Theater named after Gorky Nikolay Bogolyubov; in 1994 the novella was read by the actor of the Maly Theatre Afanasy Kochetkov, and these recordings are stored in the Gosteleradiofond to this day.

The first radio play based on the novella was produced in 2009 on “Radio Rossii-Kul’tura” and aired in March 2010.
