Description
Shri Singha is one of the earliest teachers of the Dzogchen tradition. Shri Singha’s students were Padmasambhava, Jnanasutra, Vimalamitra, and Vairochana—who he transmitted the teachings of Semde and Longde to.

A Tantra of oral instructions on the secret precious lamp of pure awareness—this sacred text came forth from the holy mouth of Shri Singha. Shri Singha received it from his Teacher Praharshavajra. Praharshavajra, known in Tibetan as Rabdorje, realized the immortal rainbow body, dissolving into the Clear Light. At the time of his departure, floating in the air, he materialized a golden casket containing a scroll with three main principles of contemplative presence. Praharshavajra was a saint in Uddiyana. His own Guru was Pure Awareness itself directly. It is said that Shri Singha attained enlightenment immediately upon hearing Praharshavajra’s instructions. Having received the direct transmission from him. And then for seventy years he continued to remain with the Teacher, deepening his understanding—that is, for all those remaining seventy years, he continued to deepen his vision of the instructions.
