“Son of the Barbarian King” is the first installment of Mikhail Loginov’s cycle “The Chronocompass of Master Luky anov,” a dynamic chrono-fantasy series for teenagers.
An ordinary schoolboy, Antoshka Vese lkin, by chance becomes the owner of an unusual device—and in a single moment is transported to Ancient Rome. There, he is taken for the son of a barbarian ruler, and instead of a peaceful holiday, tests begin: risky adventures, unexpected allies, secrets, chases, and a difficult choice that determines far too much.
Antoshka needs to understand unfamiliar laws and customs, learn how to get by among the Romans, and answer the main question: is it more important to return home at any cost, or to stay and help those who truly need rescue?
This is a story about courage and loyalty, about friendship, and about the idea that a real miracle is born not from magic, but from the strength of the human heart.
