Description
Katya ends up with her family in an earthquake in Armenia. In the city of Leninakan, her house—where she lives with three children and an alcoholic husband—gets completely destroyed. Katya runs south, to the city of Mikhailovsk. She ends up in a debt trap. Bandits demand that Katya pay her husband’s debts, threatening violence against the children.
