Sulamith

The theme of love is one of the central themes in the works of the Russian writer A. I. Kuprin.

The novella “SULAMITH” [1908], written inspired by the biblical “Song of Songs,” tells how “she visited King Solomon—the greatest of kings and wisest of the wise—his first and last love.” Happiness lasted only seven days for the lovers, but despite the tragic ending, this vivid romantic legend sounds like an inspiring hymn to the strongest and noblest feeling!
