In Wales, in the city of Swansea, fifteen-year-old Oliver Tate lives. He thinks of himself as an anthropologist, a smart philologist, and even a spy. He really wants to know everything about his parents’ mental problems—and also to lose his virginity before sixteen, to prove he’s cool. But his observations of his parents lead to the discovery that his mother is dating someone other than his father. Also, Oliver is in love with Jordana, which makes him keep a diary—something he believes is not very cool. Despite all his oddities, Oliver will be forgiven, because a film about him was made in 2010, and the music for it was written by Alex Turner.
