The novel is neither an anti-utopia nor a utopia. It is (using E. Toffler’s terminology) practopia—modeling society with all its pluses and minuses, without idealizing either positive or negative aspects. The book contains elements of an action thriller, postmodernism, philosophy, a thriller—but above all, it is social science fiction.
