Strange Times

Vincent Bancroft, editor-in-chief of a weekly newspaper about the supernatural, believes his own published news least of all. Who would seriously believe that a three-headed chicken predicted the end of the world, or that one of the readers witnessed the appearance of UFOs? But now the deadline for the next issue is looming, and the newsroom has only a few depressing advertisements for finding a “second half,” three complaints, and a photograph of a Japanese goat. And it’s right now—when news of a tragedy has just broken—that forces the heroes to get involved in a journalistic investigation… and to learn that some stories they once considered meaningless are actually real.
