At the request of her friend and colleague Leila, an agent of British intelligence, Daniel Marchant took part in the London Marathon. Leila hinted to him that a participant in the race—an American ambassador—was in danger! An hour after the start, Daniel noticed strange behavior in one of the runners, and very soon he found out that the guy had been forced, through blackmail, to wear a suicide belt. With the help of the secret services, Marchant managed to prevent a terrorist act. The suicide bomber was killed, but Daniel is suspected by the intelligence service—he’s accused of aiding the criminals. Evidence keeps mounting: someone is setting him up again and again.
