One of the earliest works in the genre of science fiction: a dark Gothic story about a split personality and the dark underside of the human soul.
Henry Jekyll, a respected doctor and scientist in society, carried out an unsuccessful experiment and materialized the dark part of his own personality. The villain that was born goes on terrorizing the entire city with his crimes. London society is shocked by the monstrous deeds of a certain Edward Hyde, but gradually begins to suspect that Dr. Jekyll is somehow connected to what’s happening. The terrible truth becomes known only after the protagonist commits suicide.
