Description
“Stormbergs” is the final part of the trilogy about the town of Stenträsk in Norrbotten, in the far north of Sweden, by the famous Swedish writer Lisa Marklund. It is an epic family chronicle centered on the story of the local police chief Viking Stormberg and his loved ones.

The local nature— the river and the Stormberget mountain—also plays an important role in the narrative. Marklund writes about passion and family secrets, violence and coercion, and, of course, love and the thirst for life. “Stormbergs” is a standalone continuation of the detective novels “The Arctic Circle” and “The Swamp” (Russian translation 2022, 2024).

Lisa Marklund (born 1962) is called the queen of Swedish detective fiction. Her debut novel “The Bomber” (1998) was a colossal success and won several literary awards.

The series of detective novels about journalist Annika Bengtzon, according to critics, permanently changed the traditions of the genre dominated by men. In 2010, Lisa Marklund together with American writer James Patterson wrote the novel “The Murder of a Postcard,” becoming the second Swedish author after Stieg Larsson whose work topped the New York Times bestseller list.

During the pandemic, the writer, whose childhood and youth were spent in the far north of Sweden, turned to her roots. The action of her new trilogy unfolds against the backdrop of harsh and majestic northern nature in the small town of Stenträsk.
