Eleonora Robertovna Yavorska (pseud. Nora Yavorska) is a poet and translator. Born March 22, 1925, in the city of Porhov. Nationality is unclear (father R. Y. Krustkaln was Latvian, shot in 1938; mother was Estonian). Graduated from the Moscow Institute of Culture. Publishing since 1952. Since 1963—member of the Union of Writers of the USSR (now—of the Union of Writers of Saint Petersburg). Honored figure of Estonia (translated about 40 books of poetry and prose by Estonian authors). Published 10 collections of original poetry. The last one, the final collection—“Through Mirages, Through Robberies”—was published in 2001. Lives in Tsarskoe Selo. “My ‘external’ biography is nothing special; the ‘internal’ one is much more meaningful.”
