Scandinavian mythology is presented in poetic form in the epic “The Poetic Edda.” This epic tells of gods such as Odin, Loki, Thor, and others—their interference in human destinies—as well as of the valkyries and dragons living in this world. “The Poetic Edda” is one of the most important monuments of Western European literature and contains mythological and heroic songs about the age of the Vikings. In this edition, a complete classical translation of “The Poetic Edda” is provided, with notes.
