The engineer Tsaplin’s wife wrote a complaint to the ministry, in which she unjustly accused the plant director Kornilov of having, using old drawings of a combine designed by Tsaplin, created his own project that received the State Prize. A serious conversation took place between Kornilov and Tsaplin. The director’s secretary, Lyudmila Ivanovna Krestovnikova, who once loved Tsaplin, worried about both of them and was very glad that the friends found out the truth and everything ended well.
