Save the Embassy

A pro-Soviet government regime falls in Kabul; bands of Mujahideen enter the city—chaos and anarchy take hold, and the lives of employees of the Russian embassy are in danger. The rescue-operation plan “Steel Corridor” is activated, but due to the changed political situation it had to be significantly simplified—greatly reducing the forces and resources that were originally to be used in the operation. Efforts of the intelligence officer Sharov, paratroopers, and military transport aviators are directed toward saving the lives of diplomats and technical personnel; with their courage, ingenuity, and selfless dedication they patch numerous gaps in the heavily cut evacuation plan.
