A special child is born to Tiny.

An owl child. Small, not like everyone else—and with wings that are broken. Tiny makes a promise to herself: she will love her child exactly as she is, help her grow, and preserve her uniqueness.

But both Tiny’s husband and all her relatives do everything in their power to make the baby-owl normal—to cure her, make her more convenient, and more worthy of their love.
