Description
A novel about a journey through St. Petersburg from the 1990s to the 2000s.

Two students create an “order of secret mercy” and set off on a path full of philosophical reflections and unexpected discoveries.

They visit an art café on Belinsky Street, located between the circus and the lecture hall of the “Znanie” (Knowledge) society, where St. Petersburg culture was developing at that time. There, poets and artists held conversations about achieving the impossible, heading toward an unknown and dangerous future.

“It was the beginning of September. Its kickoff was still very much summer—without autumn colors. We were standing in the arcade of the Novobirzhevy Gostiny Dvor gallery, designed by Quarenghi, in the fresh wind from the Neva…”
