The audiobook tells about the hero’s journey through worlds that can be equally called parallel and virtual. That is, at first the hero believes he is being thrown into a neighboring world, but in the end he begins to suspect that these are his own horrors and nightmares—and that the original cause of the unusual displacement lies in his own long-standing complexes.
From an object of hunting, he turns into a guest; from a guest, into a prisoner of a mental clinic; and from a patient into an authorized ruler of an unknown country. He wants peace and prosperity, but he sows discord and starts a war. The novel is about this—about the things we create without meaning to, and about the people we love and betray.
