Solo for a Striking Clock

Solo for a Striking Clock

1 hr. 20 min.
Description
“Solo…” doesn’t impress with the scale of the stage action, doesn’t draw you in with a rapid succession of events. This is a story for those who value the sharpness of emotion, the piercing sincerity of feeling, and the ability not to watch from the sidelines, but to empathize. According to the plot, in a small apartment of Abel, an elderly elevator operator, his friends come over once a week—people who, for different reasons, have found shelter and care in a nursing home. These get-togethers have long ceased to be merely a tradition: in memories of past times that come alive in the unhurried conversations of old acquaintances, lies the whole meaning of their life that is heading toward its sunset—a life whose joys and sorrows only begin to unfold for Abel’s grandson Pavel, who dreams of escaping the house “full of junk and clutter”…

Through funny and touching incidents, small conflicts and big resentments, will youth and maturity come to mutual understanding and real love?
