Paul Rudyagin’s very first case turns out to be incredibly difficult and tangled. It’s a chain of strange and terrifying murders, somehow mysteriously connected to the works of the great Pushkin. To understand a story whose roots reach far into the past, a young inexperienced investigator will have to uncover plenty of grim secrets. Trying to figure out what role Pushkin’s poems play in these brutal killings, Paul asks for help from the staff of the historical and advisory center “Clio,” and Vasily and Anna tell him many interesting things about the poet’s secret life.
