Description
"My Sun" is a novel about love. The main hero, a twenty-year-old Spanish young man named Ogust, is pursued by fantastic circumstances. In a mysterious way, he travels from 1991 back into the past—into 1911—and in this new time for him, he unexpectedly finds what he lacked in real life: love, family happiness, and the joy of creativity. However, the hero’s happy life is interrupted by a chain of shipwrecks in which people dear to him die. Ogust feels that some force is leading him through the hardest trials—reminding him that the happiness he took for himself against the logic of time was meant for someone else.
It would be easy to despair, but the feeling of grateful love helps Ogust make sense of and endure the sorrowful sequence of events. The hero seems to walk with a lantern through a line of black rooms, and with the light of love he illuminates them. At the same time, he keeps changing himself. From a haughty twenty-year-old, time shapes him into a wise man who has learned a simple truth: love is light.
