"The Sun—A Cool God" is a novel by the well-known Norwegian writer Jun Ewo, who writes with irony and respect about the old-as-the-world and ever-new problems of a person growing up. We are presented with the diary of a sixteen-year-old teenager, Adam, who every morning climbs onto the roof of the elevator to greet the Sun, which has made a pact with him. In exchange for his daily greeting, the Sun promises to help Adam fulfill his most cherished dream—stop being a child.
