Description
It’s a story about sixteenth-century soldiers known as landsknechts. But it all starts on a distant planet, where a student named Etile Allinard runs into trouble in his personal life. To avoid problems, he’s sent on a reconnaissance mission to Earth, where he must gather information about space neighbors. On Earth, he joins a group of the military, believing that the army is the best place for spying because of its mobility and advanced technology. However, soon he realizes that his main priority is survival, not espionage—and at the same time he tries to understand the world of the New Time through the lens of a modern person.
