Prestigious attorney Malcolm Ross is approached for help by Abel Trelloni’s archaeologist daughter, Margaret. The girl is in complete despair. She has every reason to believe that her father was targeted for murder. Fortunately, the criminal failed to carry out the plan, and the man is alive, but his injuries are serious.
At the scene examination, the police found in one of the writing desk drawers a letter addressed to Miss Trelloni from her father—with detailed and very strange instructions on what to do in case something were to happen to Mr. Trelloni.
