Go Down, Moses and Other Stories

Description
Like many other of Faulkner’s works, the action takes place in the fictional Yoknapatawpha County in the state of Mississippi. Among the central themes is slavery, which also determines the choice of the title. According to Faulkner’s plan, the structure of the book was supposed to repeat the one he had already used in “The Unvanquished,” but combining the previously written, unrelated stories about Black themes into a single work turned out to be quite difficult. Faulkner worked on the book from May to December 1941, and in March 1942 it finally saw the light of day.
