Pack Up, We're Leaving

“Get ready—we’re leaving” is my debut novella. The editor pulled it out of piles of folders that had been stacked on the windowsill, blocking daylight. It’s a sincere, naive book that’s at the same time harsh, uncompromising, and piercing—the way only a first attempt at writing can be. The title is a phrase that isn’t invented—it was something I often heard as a child. The novella became a bestseller and shaped my creative future.
