Death Smells of Sandalwood

A new novel by the 2012 Nobel laureate and the greatest Chinese writer of today, Mo Yan, in a fresh, colorful edition!

An unbearably beautiful novel about the heroic death of a folk singer sentenced to the terrible execution by sandalwood, during which a person must suffer for several days before giving up their spirit.

Suffocatingly grand atmosphere of early 20th-century China, mixed with half-fairytale images and a symphony of horror.
