Reverend Seraphim of Sarov — hieromonk, clairvoyant and miracle-worker, one of the most venerated and sincerely loved saints in Russia and throughout the world. Popular devotion to the elder became firmly established in Russia in the 19th century. In 1903, he was glorified by the Russian Church among the ranks of the venerable at the initiative of Emperor Nicholas II. His teachings, carefully preserved and gathered, carry a deep wisdom of Orthodoxy, combining the experience of spiritual life of the ancient Holy Fathers and of Father Seraphim himself.
