Aydlewyld Hall has long been considered a sinister place. In the 1950s, it housed a boarding school for troubled girls—rebels, illegitimate children, and those with developmental differences. There were rumors that a ghost lived in the building, so locals tried to stay well away from it. The school was shut down after the mysterious disappearance of one of the students—a member of a group of four inseparable friends. Nearly half a century later, the body of a girl was found nearby among the abandoned wing. Her boyfriend was accused of the murder, and later he was sentenced.
And twenty years after that, a new horrific discovery made during the reconstruction of Aydlewyld Hall links both tragedies together and reveals the terrifying secrets of a much more distant past.
