The Blind

The novella recreates real events of the “snowy” winter of 1907, which swept up A. A. Blok, N. N. Volkhovа, L. D. Blok, and G. I. Chulkov. Blok’s passionate affair with Volkhovа gave rise to the famous cycle “The Snow Mask.”

G. Chulkov, transferring the real situation into the novella, first of all tried to avoid “lightness” by making the relationships between the people composing the famous “four-corner” constellation more vivid.
