The Speed of Dark

A study of the consciousness of a person with autism who faces questions about their essence in an ideal future world where medicine can correct genetic defects. Lou Arrendell, living in that world, is confronted with the decision to undergo experimental treatment that will cure his autism—but may change his very essence, including how he perceives the world, his interests, and his feelings.
