Tales of the Old Arbat

A production of the Leningrad Pushkin Drama Theatre based on the play of the same name by A. Arbuzov.

In one of the quiet cozy backstreets of old Moscow lives the talented puppet-maker Fedor Balyasnikov. He has a loyal friend, Khristofor Blohin, and a son, Kuzma. Suddenly, a sweet and gentle girl, Viktosha, appears in the house—into whom the father, the son, and even the puppets fall in love.

Aleksei Arbuzov, the creator of new life dramaturgy, realism of dreams, turns here into a proponent of a play full of meaning and rich in tense, funny, and touching moments—play that lasts a lifetime.
