Fairy Tales

The great German storyteller Wilhelm Hauff wrote three collections of fairy tales. His mystical, sometimes scary, sometimes sad tales are infused with the spirit of the East, yet at the same time they lack an “eastern” color. He is one of the few authors who managed to turn ordinary legends about ghosts and the poor who punish evil rich men into magical, bright, unforgettable masterpieces—interesting to read even today, both for children and adults.
