The Orphan House

England, 1948. Clara Newton sends her résumé to the children’s home “Shilling Grange” and—unexpectedly for herself and for all the residents—becomes its new director. Many of her charges are without families; their lives are torn apart by the war, just as Clara’s life is. The war took her fiancé—a military pilot.

But now the orphans desperately need her help, and Clara struggles to bear their suffering—yet what she fears most is that she might not be able to cope.
