In a small Russian town there is a research institute of micromechanical engineering led by a talented scientist, Dedenev. The institute develops medical microrobots, but the international ban on manufacturing microrobots that can reproduce themselves sharply limits opportunities for creativity. At this time Dedenev’s small grandson, Alexey, falls gravely ill, and only a desperate decision to treat the boy with an experimental batch of microrobots saves his life.
About ten years after these events, the new director of the enterprise makes Napoleon-like plans to seize power in Russia using microrobots. Alexey and his friends try to ruin the director’s scheme.
