The book “Assault on Bakhmut. Call sign Constable” is based on real events that took place with the fighters of the 3rd platoon, 7th assault squad of the Wagner PMC from November 2022 to April 2023. From the perspective of the fighters and commanders, the book tells about the military and everyday life of the rank-and-file in the assault unit. Each fighter joined the unit voluntarily and tried to survive and carry out the combat tasks assigned to them. Part of the unit consisted of active Wagner PMC employees urgently redeployed from Africa to carry out the mission. Part were volunteers who had combat experience from previous military conflicts. Most of the unit were recent prisoners.
