Vedic knowledge is infallible because it descends along a chain of perfect student-teacher spiritual succession that begins with the Supreme Lord Himself. And since the first word of Vedic knowledge was spoken by the Supreme Lord, the source of this knowledge is transcendent. The words spoken by the Lord are called apauruṣeya. That means they come from a person who does not belong to the material world. At the dawn of creation, Vedic knowledge was originally placed by the Lord into the heart of Brahma—the first created living being—and Brahma, in turn, passed this knowledge on to his sons and students, who continue to spread it to this day.
