Have you not yet heard about this amazing book? In Russia, everyone should know it. It’s about the Russian soul. It’s about real male friendship. And, of course, about great Russian art. It doesn’t even turn the tongue to call it memoirs. It’s a majestic monument erected by one of the most remarkable Russian artists to the greatest singer of all times and peoples. And yet there’s no “marble slime,” no pomp or clumsiness of a statue! The conversation is intimate and clear—just like everything else that belongs to an ordinary Russian genius.
