The Mine

Kenilworth Arms is a multi-story apartment complex in downtown Chicago—a shelter for the disadvantaged, immigrants, those hiding from the law, or simply those with nowhere else to go. Here stops a petty criminal, Cruz, who fled Miami from his accomplices, and Jonathan, who cut ties with the past after a failed marriage. But this house is strange: people disappear inside it, its walls hold many secrets; sometimes it even seems as if they are alive, as if real blood is pulsing through them. In the sewage lines and air ducts, something lives there that you won’t find even in the worst nightmares. And when Cruz starts having problems with the police and with the local crime boss, Kenilworth Arms changes—responding in a way that will leave neither uninvited guests nor local residents any protection.
