A Russian expedition discovered the Alaskan peninsula in 1732; it remained part of Russia for 135 years. By the time Alaska and the Aleutian Islands were sold in 1867, there lived about 2,500 Russians and 60,000 representatives of indigenous peoples, such as Native Americans and Eskimos. In 1896, gold was found by two prospectors in Bonanza Creek, a tributary of the Klondike, triggering the Yukon gold rush. A work by the famous American writer Jack London, written in a vivid and dynamic style, describes events of that time and introduces readers to the life and customs of Alaska’s inhabitants. The translation was done by Yu. I. Gorulko-Shestopalov and published in 2015. The audiobook, narrated by Honored Artist of Ukraine Oleg Lepents, was released in 2022 with a duration of 1 hour 21 minutes and 35 seconds. ISBN of the edition 978-5-8218-0022-6.
