The Silver Road is a highway that runs through the village of Glimmerstresk. Three years ago, the local teacher Lelle drove his 17-year-old daughter Lina to the bus stop on this highway—and never saw her again.
The girl disappeared without a trace; the police long ago stopped searching, and the poor father still keeps looking. For three years in a row, he has been riding along the Silver Road, exploring every spur, every abandoned backwoods hamlet. Lelle is looking for Lina because he can’t do otherwise.
Meya is the same age as the missing Lina—she doesn’t yet know Lelle. But very soon their fates will, in a strange way, intersect. On that very northern highway that winds among forest-covered mountains, connecting all of Sweden.
