A thriller about cults—escape is impossible. Read by Dmitry Polonsky and Sasha Sulim.
Nika doesn’t like talking about her childhood. Her father was the leader of a totalitarian cult and kept the entire city in fear. He died when Nika was twelve, but the echoes of those crimes have been chasing her ever since.
Many years later, Nika returns to her hometown of Staroaltaysk and learns that not much has changed in the city. The girls-cult members disappear again, and they’re found dead—people say they took their own lives. Someone is also watching Nika and sending encrypted messages. But how can she prove it’s really happening when everyone around considers Nika insane?
And only Roma believes her, whose sister has gone missing.
